Dr. Leanna Ursales, DDS

Dr. Ursales was born in the Philippines and came to the US at 11 years old while enroute to serving as medical missionaries in Gimbie, Africa. Her family background runs deep in medicine and music: her father and sisters are physicians; her mother, a musician with a degree in law; and her brother and brother-in-law are both ortho-prosthetists.

Dr. Ursales completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she earned her degree in General Biology in 2007. She attended a Post-BS Certificate program in Biomedical Sciences/Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and was accepted into Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014.

Dr. Ursales has spent the last decade dedicating her time and resources to obtaining advanced dental training. Her philosophy centers on practicing evidence-based dentistry and understanding why we practice dentistry. Dr. Ursales obtained a mastership in Biomimetic Dentistry with The Alleman Center to practice minimally invasive and preservative dentistry. Furthermore, she received training in implant dentistry and tissue grafting at Loma Linda School of Dentistry and at the Global Institute for Dental Education (gIDE) with Dr. Sascha Jovanovic in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, Dr. Ursales started her training at SPEAR education in Arizona.

In her free time Dr. Ursales loves staying fit at her local and home gyms. She has completed multiple distance races including half and full marathons in Guam, Monterey, Oahu and Kauai, to name a few. Her ultimate favorite activity is going on vacation with her family and dogs. Dr. Ursales’ bucket list includes hiking the Napali Coast, visiting National Parks outside of California, traveling to New Zealand and, ultimately, retiring in Japan.
